Attendance & Absence

Good attendance and punctuality is essential to long-term success at school. As part of our commitment to your child's learning and progress we will monitor attendance and punctuality closely. Where there is a cause for concern, parents and carers meet with our Attendance and Welfare Officer. The aim is to explore any underlying reasons for absence, signpost possible avenues of support and set targets to improve attendance over a period of time.

For children who are absent, parents should phone the school to explain why their child is absent and the nature of any illness.

Holidays in term-time, including visits to family overseas, are not permitted. Like most schools we have a policy of issuing fixed penalty notices for unauthorised absences.
